Creation & Noah

This is work-in-progress, I'm trying to multitask by painting 2 illustrations at the same time. I noticed during the previous piece there were instances where I was finding myself getting bored over the details, not to mention that it took quiet a long time. I discovered , through searching, online that I am not the only one that experience this. A suggested solution was to do multiple paintings, but try to keep them consistent with each other. This is actually helping, if I get tired of looking at one piece I just switch to the other, which give me a fresh eye every time.

Lava River

I know it's been a long time since I've uploaded something. Here's a near recent piece where I feel like I'm understand more about composition and coloring.

Finally done

Finally I'm done. I'm sure I could have add more element to make this piece more fun, but I gave myself a time limit and I've reached the end of it. I'm very happy with the final rendering. This took a total of 8hrs, painting a few hours here and there.

Something clicked

I'm starting to understand more about digital painting. This is still work in process, however I really like how this is developing. There's several "happy accidents" that in some areas gave me a different perspective on achieving my goal.

Update on Recent work

Here's an update on a recent post. I know there's more to add, I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what exactly needs to be added, or how.

The last couple of days or so...

Okay, I've been quite busy since the last time I posted anything. After reviewing the previous painting I decided to do some more studing and self evaluation. Above you'll see some perspective practices.

Here I wanted to paint a drawing where I used the perspective leanings.

I wasn't satisfied with the previous painting so I tried to just start a random painting with no drawing. Previously I caught myself getting to hung-up in details that I was losing my flow. But in this painting I just tried to have fun. It's not finished, but I am liking the way it's turning out. I'm not sure if I'll finish it...

This is a working progress

Here's where I'm at thus far. I'm really excited to see what the finally with look like. I'll definitely post the finish  image once I'm done.

Day 5 v5

I'm currently working on the 1 week of creation. This is day 5, it's actually the 5th version. Playing around with Photoshop, I'm trying to establish the look and feel for a personal project. I do like the contrast in color with this version, and I like that it feels more like an environment. This rendered so much better than the 1st 4 I'm debating if I want to create another one. We'll see :)

Speed painting - Castle with a view

I'm actually pretty happy how this painting. I can see a lot of improvement from the previous speed paintings to this one. Several things were changed in the approach, the one thing that sticks out to me was to allow myself permission to paint how I feel and not by what I see. In general I was adding too much detail too early in the process. By only focusing on the form an composite, it forced me to work on details at the end. Below you'll see the reference photo I used.

Speed Painting - Water Fall

Here's another speed painting I started this morning, and below is the reference. I still think the color is a little flat, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it.

Speed Painting

Ok, so I didn't like the way some of my paintings were coming out. I took some time away from the normal project and decided to do some speed painting. After a few of these are completed, I'm curious to see where it takes me.

Here is the reference I used.

Day 5v3

This is actually version 4 however I'm not quite satisfied with the colors but it's getting there. I took a different approach and tried to focus on the whole picture as oppose to completing one section at a time. I'm excited to see where this is going. It only took me 90mins from start to here.

Blind Drawings

Here is a exerciser sketch of a remote and a cup done without looking at the paper. I tend to do these as a warm-up.

Giggles

Hello

This blog will be a showcase of my work, here I'll display different projects that I'm currently working on. I'm really excited to finally place my files somewhere to see progress and get feedback from people. I'm looking forward to sharing my work with the world and for people to experience and discuss the journey. I hope you'll be just as fond of the work as I am creating it.
