Day 5 v5

I'm currently working on the 1 week of creation. This is day 5, it's actually the 5th version. Playing around with Photoshop, I'm trying to establish the look and feel for a personal project. I do like the contrast in color with this version, and I like that it feels more like an environment. This rendered so much better than the 1st 4 I'm debating if I want to create another one. We'll see :)

Speed painting - Castle with a view

I'm actually pretty happy how this painting. I can see a lot of improvement from the previous speed paintings to this one. Several things were changed in the approach, the one thing that sticks out to me was to allow myself permission to paint how I feel and not by what I see. In general I was adding too much detail too early in the process. By only focusing on the form an composite, it forced me to work on details at the end. Below you'll see the reference photo I used.

Speed Painting - Water Fall

Here's another speed painting I started this morning, and below is the reference. I still think the color is a little flat, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it.

Speed Painting

Ok, so I didn't like the way some of my paintings were coming out. I took some time away from the normal project and decided to do some speed painting. After a few of these are completed, I'm curious to see where it takes me.

Here is the reference I used.

Day 5v3

This is actually version 4 however I'm not quite satisfied with the colors but it's getting there. I took a different approach and tried to focus on the whole picture as oppose to completing one section at a time. I'm excited to see where this is going. It only took me 90mins from start to here.
